Happy Hormone Tonic (Menopause)
A blend of herbs traditionally used to help support the menopause transition, cool hot flushes and calm anxiety, irritability and mood swings and support mood and energy.
This tonic contains herbs which are rich in phytoestrogens, adaptogens, nervines and cooling herbs. Ashwaganda and Shatavari are adaptogens, meaning they support the body in times of stress, nourishing and balancing organ systems. Shatavari is an Ayruvedic herb, also called the Queen of Herbs and has a cooling and moistening effect in the body. It contains steroidal saponins called shatavarins which can have a normalising effect on hormonal balance – reducing the effect of excess oestrogen by preventing it from binding with oestrogen receptors, while providing some oestrogenic stimulation when there is a lack of oestrogen, such as after menopause. It is used traditionally to ease hot flushes, irritability, vaginal dryness, low libido and poor memory.
Sage, Hops and Sour jujube seed are used to ease sweating and promote sleep and the nervine Passionflower offers a calming and relaxing action due to its flavonoid and alkaloid constituents. Rose and Verbena are nervines used traditionally to lift mood and the bitter herbs, like Dandelion root and Hops support the liver to ease hormone balance.
This blend includes the herbs: Withania somnifera (Ashwaganda), Salvia officinalis (Sage), Ziziphus spinosa (Sour jujube seed), Asparagus racemosa (Shatavari), Verbena officinalis (Verbena), Passiflora incarnata (Passionflower), Humulus lupulus (Hops), Rosa spp (Rose), Glycyrrhiza glabra 1:1 (Licorice),
